The Troubadours Guild

Troubadour Conference
Public – By The Troubador Poet’s Guild
______________________________________________________________________________
April 1 at 8:00am until April 3 at 5:00pm
______________________________________________________________________________
The Troubadour Poet’s Guild is proud to announce the third annual Troubadour’s Conference. Come share your love soaked lyrics, listen to master troubadours like Guillem de Cabestan, Arnaud Daniel, Bertran de Born, and a special reading from one of our trobairitz, Beatriz de Dia. Each performance will be followed by a short speech on their pieces and each day will host a panel of the featured performers. To our newcomers: the Troubadour’s Conference is a place where the lovesick poets of Europe come to share ideas, stories, critique each other’s works, and commiserate over each other’s stories of forbidden and courtly love. Whether you are a poet, troubadour or simply a lover of the written word everyone is welcome to attend. If you are new to the artistry of perfect prose, learn how to make your works stand out in our many writing workshops, including Cute or Creepy: Traversing the Fine Line, Rhyming 101, She’s Just Not That Into You: Yes She Is, Overcoming Doubt, and more!

Hadrian Forthwind Looking forward to the readings! Will there be time for us to ask the featured poets questions?

The Troubadour’s Guild There will be ample opportunity to ask the poets about their prose. After the readings the featured troubadours will answer questions from those in attendance.

Hadrian Forthwind Thanks! I’m really looking forward to hearing Beatriz de Dia’s performance, especially since I heard that she usually has a musical aspect to them.

Ezio Auditore de Firenze Traveling all the way from Florence to attend. If anyone else is coming up from Italy it might be a good idea to travel in a group.

Francesco Vecello I’ll be going my brother. Message me and we can organize our travels. I did not expect you to take an interest in poetry.

Ezio Auditore de Firenze Sounds excellent, I will begin preparations for our journey. I thought it would be exciting for Claudia, you remember my sister, to travel. She has a soft spot for poetry and her birthday is coming up, so I thought i would surprise her.

Lady Maerwyn of Warwick I’m so excited! I wanted to go last year but my husband wanted to go hunting instead.

The Troubadour’s Guild Well we are all glad to have you in attendance m’ lady. Perhaps you will find an admirer here who would rather sing of your beauty than attend a hunting trip any day.
For your hair is as golden and warm as the sun that shines on the fairest of spring days
Your face is the essence of purity, lily white with cheeks tinged with a pink so delicate
With a smile whiter than pearls and sweeter than honey

Lord Cedric of Warwick But let’s keep it within boundaries. That is my wife and the mother of my children.

The Troubadour’s Guild No worries Lord Cedric of Warwick. A troubadour’s poems are that of courtly love and affection from afar. Your fair Lady Maerwyn of Warwick is a muse and you are a lucky man.
