30-Second Lais

Marie de France, a 12th century poetess, wrote witty stories to entertain the masses in the form of short poems called Lais. Her stories were based upon ones she had heard the Bretons tell, and contained tales of love, loss, and adultery. Written during the age of chivalric themes and courtly love,  her poems were just long enough to entertain a crowd in the evenings.  Unfortunately, due to the ever decreasing attention spans of society today, we find it necessary to abbreviate for your benefit. With great pleasure we bring to you two retellings specially shortened for your attention span. Marie de France: 30-second Lais.
